I market PEOPLE, their TALENTS, SERVICES and PRODUCTS.

My customers pop up in my email or on my BlackBerry with a problem for me to solve. If we have a meeting of the minds, their problem becomes MY problem as we tackle their web marketing project. MY challenge is getting them, or… their talent, or… their service or… their product SEEN by as many targeted demographics of the Web as possible.

I do the preliminary research, study their niche market segments and then design a web marketing plan to make the most of their web challenge. Once the marketing plan is in place I become a craftsman — a modern-day laborer. I have to change hats from marketing GURU to coding GRUNT. I bury myself behind a bunch of way too cool monitors as I slip into the drudgery and tedium of CODING a site! Arrgh!

Add a THEME to WordPress - Even with a great web hosting account and a superb WordPress Platform there is still a LOT of frustrating tweaking needed to get the available FREE and PREMIUM Themes into behaving as the marketing and website design plan dictates. Sitting down at 7 am on Monday morning with a whole week of coding in front of me, is like sucking all the oxygen out of the room. It is tedious!

Picking an “Out-of-the-Box” theme is easier if your website/blog is in a specific “niche” such as: Photography, Art, Newsletter, User Forum, and sometimes even Shopping Cart or Real Estate. Even then, your choice of a theme can be very narrowly defined and limiting if there are features or design issues that you want to change.

Step onto MY CENTER STAGE Chris Pearson!

Thesis WordPress Theme – is designed by WordPress GURU Chris Pearson.

I learned long ago, that Chris has lots of experience designing WordPress Themes. I first heard of Chris on CopyBlogger where, Chris’ name is clearly on the footer as the custom Theme designer. He is clearly experienced in WordPress, WordPress Themes and obviously expert in HTML, CSS, PHP, and SEO (search engine optimization).

Would it be irreverant to suggest that my Photo Shop version of Chris Pearson reminds me of Matthew Broderick in one of my favorite movies of all time: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off ?

Let me tell you how many hours of frustration Chris Pearson’s THESIS THEME has cleared from MY typical workweek…

A Day in the Life of THIS Web Marketing Dude

So, a typical Day in a Web marketing dude’s life… Me or my customer slips that bad boy VISA card out, then we log onto BlueHost where we grab a hosting account, buy or transfer a domain onto the blank canvas and then purchase and install THESIS! WOO HOO! That just shaved DAYS of coding and frustration from my week…

THESIS saves me TIME.

THESIS therefore saves my clients MONEY.

Period.

THESIS ROCKS!

This review is done!

Okay… okay… Just kidding. Obviously, you have poked around the Internet and you are really getting excited about maybe getting THESIS for yourself and you need some more red meat. Alright! Let’s look at Thesis a little more. I just know that this post is going to burn up my whole Sunday…

Considering a Premium Theme like THESIS?

First of all, let me say that I have used numerous FREE themes and have purchased so-called Premium Themes for amounts as low as $17, and a few that came really close to $300.00 EACH for past projects. No matter the cost, low or HIGH, I almost ALWAYS felt cheated! I felt cheated because there were lots of things these OTHER THEMES just did not do. The restrictions were numerous and all over the landscape.

I often could not control the placement of simple icons, banners, social media links,

I spent hours attempting to place simple banners on the header, footer or sidebars,

I would have inexplicable formatting conflicts with Nav Menu customization,

SEO was iffy, or non-existent and I’d have to load up All in One SEO Pack,

Insertion of other than YouTube videos was risky business,

At the end of most projects using many themes, I just wasn’t a satisfied, Happy Camper!

Then, I went and did it! – I purchased THESIS…

Yup… I jumped on that BIG, moving THESIS BUS! Sure, I jumped on late, but I am so glad that I did. If my doctor was to prescribe the perfect Rx for me, it would have been the Thesis Theme. It’s easy to use, it’s a very clean and sanitary design, it can be set up minimalistic or totally PIMPED OUT with affiliate Ads and Banners oozing from all possible placements (or hooks).

The customization options are numerous, the control over the Look and Feel is simple enough for most end users to learn, and the SEO is coded well enough that no additional coding or 3rd party plugins are needed except for extreme SEO cliff jumpers.

Thesis costs $87 for a personal license or $164 for a developers license. By splurging on the developers license, you can use Thesis on as many blogs as you own, and there is a reduced rate for those sites not owned by you that you service.

While I have not purchased nor deployed every possible Premium Theme that is available, for me, THESIS is the best “out of the box” WordPress Theme I’ve ever come across, installed, deployed or heard about.

The THESIS Community

When you hit your head against what appears to be a THESIS Brick Wall, don’t PANIC! Be comforted that there is a huge THESIS COMMUNITY of bloggers, developers (like me), and DIY Thesis Forum members who will help fellow Thesis Users blast a hole through that brick wall without too much time wasted in a search for a specific solution. At the THESIS User Forum there are plenty of answers to your occasional questions. There are also some “regulars” there who are quick to lend a hand if you cannot locate the proper thread about your issue of the moment.

Customization is KING: Custom CSS

With the click of your mouse, you can tick a box that allows you to use either the default css theme or your own custom css file. Thesis allows you to pick and choose which “pages” you display instead of utilizing a code that simply displays every page.

THESIS Custom Banners and Navigation menu

Many of my WordPress / Thesis customers are having me build them their first website that they’ve ever had. They are excited, nervous, learning new terms, sometimes setting up or re-working their business model too: having stationery and business cards printed, bank accounts opened, etc. When I suggest they consider having a seasoned graphic artist or designer look into branding, or a website banner, sometimes it is just too much for them to deal with all at once.

Though I’m no NY or LA boutique designer, often I will take pity on some of my new business-owner clients and their feelings of being overwhelmed. So I will break out PhotoShop or Elements and kludge together a temporary banner for them so that their site has some color and personality.

I have found that my banners will either remain there in perpetuity or might actually inspire a serious branding and design session that will result in some spectacular results. Below is one that, considering the site is for an avocation, seems to be just fine according to my client and her network in the dance world.

BELOW: For a half-hour’s work, this banner (in my mind) beats just the Thesis Navigation Menu hugging the top of my monitor with no people, no, color, no action, no inspiration…

Since the Family-Dance website is running in THESIS, after I make my 900-pixel x 300-pixel banner, placing it above the navigation menu (or anywhere else I choose) – is a simple matter of uploading the banner.jpeg, and allowing THESIS Open-Hook to insert my banner into the theme’s code without me tweaking the code! You may think that many themes are this user friendly, but that is simply not the case. When I am using Thesis (like right now writing this), well, what can I say? Life is Good…

THESIS Nav Menu Flexibility: Pages, Categories and Links!

Thesis standard functionality (out of the box) also allows us to mix and match Pages and Blog Categories and Offsite URL Links ALL together in the website’s Navigation MENU.

Is this a Big Deal? Yes… it is!

Your Home Page Navigation Menu is like the Remote Control to your entire Blog or Website. Why should you have to spend days engineering custom-code or some obscure Plug-In when Thesis just handles all the possibilities? Your Navigation MENU, the Keys-to-the-Kingdom can click effortlessly to:

Pages of your choosing, and/or

Blog Categories (with POSTS assigned to the categories), and/or

Offsite URL Links

This is GOOD STUFF folks! Lately I saved a lot of heartache because Thesis allows us to assign Links tho the Menu (without it being obvious) – until you click it… The ability to seamlessly insert offsite URL Links to outside websites? OMG! That is flexibility!

THESIS saved me - In one instant just last week, the link in menu option saved me a lot of frustration. I have a TV writer client who has two websites: one for her TV-Writing Business and one for her Dancing Avocation which she takes on the road all over America and Canada. Because she is a performer and does “gigs,” she NEEDS and DEPENDS upon a website calendar that her friends and clients also need to access when they are looking to book her for writing gigs or dancing gigs.

Rather than come up with a complicated calendar solution, or having her maintain two separate calendars (one on each website) requiring duplication of both data and all the time and effort to key the in TWICE, I simply LINKED from her Dance Website via the THESIS NAV MENU to her one and only Calendar that she maintains on her TV-Writing website!

The Menu Bar:

takes you to numerous Posts (via Categories), to specific Pages (just like a static website), and one menu button (SUSAN’S CALENDAR), takes you seamlessly to another website! – See Below:

Thank you Thesis! Problem solved in 120 seconds…

THESIS Multimedia Box

A powerful part of the Thesis theme is the Multimedia Box, which you can change to rotate between pictures, embedded videos or even custom code for all those website owners that want to show advertising in that area.

Oh sure, some themes have areas set aside here and there for ad placements, but what distinguishes THESIS is that I can change what appears in the Multimedia Box on any given page (or not!)… You can have the Multimedia Box show WHERE and WHEN you choose.

In my work, I consider the THESIS Multimedia Box is a MICRO blank canvas within the BIGGER blank canvas that is ALL of the THESIS Theme. In my book, that spells: C O N T R O L …

No Coding, No Programming Skills Required!

Did I mention that all of these neat and nifty aspects of Thesis I am pointing out do not require me to poke around in the code? All this functionality can be accessed via Chris Pearson’s Thesis Control Panels:

Site Options

Design Options

Page Options

Manage Options

Then when you decide to dig deeper into THESIS, you can use the Plug-In: THESIS Open Hooks, and if you want to play Code GEEK, you can use the included Custom File Editor where you actually can tweak the code in the three most common files:

custom.css

layout.css, and

custom_functions.php

Especially Good For Small Businesses

Most of my clients are small business owners and entrepreneurs who need to get their websites deployed quickly with the prospect of mantaining the site themselves, and providing new content via the CMS functionality of the WordPress + THESIS combination. As I write this THESIS review I am reminded just how valuable this combination. All Small Businesses should consider the THESIS Theme.

Closing Thought

Last week I was upgraded from Thesis 1.6 to Thesis 1.7. Wow! There’s lots of NEW and GOOD STUFF in this upgrade. I am really looking forward to the 2.0 version.

Remember... When you buy your copy of Thesis for $87 you get FREE Upgrades For Life. Not too shabby!

Now it’s up to you…

Bookmark this website in case you need a hand, and then…

This is my most comprehensive review yet about BlueHost that I have written. This is not a review of the dark-magic, so I won’t get into the web guru stuff like SSH/Shell Access, mod_rewrite support, mod_security support, PHP5 servers, Ruby on Rails support, etc… This review is more for the folks wanting to launch a new business website, the writer wanting to start one or more blog sites, someone considering affiliate marketing…

I have been monitoring BlueHost as an actual customer for exactly 2 years and 2 months since February 21, 2008. As a busy WordPress and Thesis website designer who creates sites for paying customers, and many for non-profits, I have inadvertently collected over 60 websites ALL hosted on my ONE BlueHost account! I can attest to their marketing claims and promises.

I have witnessed BlueHost’s incredible growth to one of the most successful web hosting companies in the mix. This is especially so for hosting companies that are WordPress ® FRIENDLY! . In this comprehensive review, I want to point out some of the advantages of having BlueHost host your static, coded Website, your Blog, or better yet, your WordPress-Powered Website!

I use BlueHost – I’m a Happy Camper

As previously mentioned, I have been using BlueHost for more than 2 years now. The reason I remain with them while under constant bombardment from newer, sometimes “slicker” outfits; some promising lesser-cost solutions (if that is possible), is because they are always on the cutting edge. Many other web hosting companies seem to merely be following their lead. Also, I never wonder if my sites are UP or DOWN — they are more dependable than my Power Company, my Internet Provider and my Cable TV provider!!! Enough said.

Unlimited Disk Space and Bandwidth

BlueHost was one of the first on the block to take advantage of the incredible disk drive densities we’ve all witnessed. They have been passing down these technological increases to their customers increasing BOTH disk space and bandwidth while other hosting companies are slower to follow.

Host Unlimited Domains under ONE (1) Hosting Account!

It Got Better – BlueHost was one of the first affordable hosting firms that offered multiple domain hosting to their customers. Sure, it is commonplace nowadays, but I have to give credit to BlueHost to be the first to champion this fabulous trend to the benefit of webmasters and individual website / blog owners. BlueHost is one of the first web hosting companies out there to offer lots and lots of disk space and more-than-adequate bandwidth AND, technically, you can host UNLIMITED websites under the same hosting account! While my 60+ sites is far from “unlimited,” I suspect that most readers of this review will not host anywhere near the 60 that I currently do.

Me? - I like BlueHost – can you tell? And, more importantly to my livelihood, my website clients who own multiple-domains, and thus have multiple-websites, they too had to have ONLY one BlueHost account for their multiple sites. My clients have come to appreciate my advice as well as recognizing a good value and REAL CASH SAVINGS…

BEWARE!

Many hosting companies may lure you in by offering huge amounts of disk space and impressive bandwidth but they only allow you to host ONE (1) domain per account! My WordPress and Thesis customers who are business owners, or for other reasons have more than one domain, have learned to BEWARE of hosts that limit you to a single domain.

As I write this review, I have mentally reviewed my client list. Almost ALL of my customers have more than one website. Sure, when we got together they had only one – but they’ve come to learn and appreciate that if one website brings them business, blog-readers, fame, traffic, etc., then more than one site will often bring them MORE! Life is GOOD.

I spend a lot of time designing focused and targeted websites that cater to my clients various niche customers. Anyone creating a website for their business should minimally add a second site after the first site is fleshed out. Then, you can more accurately measure how well your website design, SEO, and other intangibles are received by the world at large… So get a hosting company that will not penalize you as you add-on new domains.

What are your long-term goals? - As stated above, my typical customer has, on average, 4 to 6 websites for niche-marketing their products and services and also to test the effectiveness of one website design against another. This makes the website hosting companies’ policies important to ME and I suspect to MANY similar readers looking for a web host! If a 6-website business owner were not at BlueHost where they can have UNLIMITED domains for $83.40 per year, they could be paying $500.00 or more per year with some other hosts! I just did the math. My 62 sites @ $83.40 per year could cost $5,170.80 at a host that does not have an unlimited domain policy. Now THAT is some serious cash! What good is a ton of disk space and bandwidth if your wallet is being held hostage PER DOMAIN?

More than Disk Space and Bandwidth

These days, many BlueHost-like companies are now offering increased or unlimited disk space and significant bandwidth. Hosting has come a long way since I launched my first website in 1996. So now that many hosting companies offer lots of disk space and bandwidth, we are more able to concentrate on the OTHER CRITICAL components that make for the BEST web hosting company: Server Reliability (UP-time) and Customer Support. Disk Space and Bandwidth are useless if your web hosting company is often slow or worse: DOWN! Have you ever owned a website that was “off the air?” You are on pins and needles fretting over the embarrassment from current customers and visitors – let alone the lost potential as your site is down. Arrgh!

Add-on Domains

Unlike some hosting companies, you do not need to make a special request or call tech-support to add your 2nd or 62nd domain to your BlueHost account. You can manage your add-on domains directly in your BlueHost CPanel. This is a BIG DEAL! Some web hosting companies insist that you email their support department every time you need to add or remove an add-on domain, making a simple task frustrating! Remember, the add-on domains are absolutely FREE.

“Dude, you’re repeating yourself…” – Sorry, I don’t mean to restate this, but listen up! Some web hosting services CLAIM that you can host multiple domains in your ONE (1) account, but they are disingenuous. After you sign up, your credit card is dinged and you are beginning to buy or transfer that SECOND domain you are broadsided for MORE MONEY! Sure it was in the fine print, but like many of us, you failed to read carefully. Bummer… There is that pop-up screen asking you to approve another charge – there is an EXTRA FEE. That fee can cost you $3 or more per ADD-ON domain. Read the fine print.

93 Video Tutorials!

BlueHost suggests they have 60 video tutorials that you can watch online. I suspect they are being a tad conservative as I counted 93 videos last visit. The video tutorials will teach you how to use the BlueHost CPanel, how to transfer domains, how to setup your email accounts, how to setup spam protection, how to use and set up FTP accounts, how to use Fantastico, how to install WordPress, etc…

100 MySQL Databases Included

You can have up to 100 MySQL databases! What is a MySQL database you ask? Hmmm. Even if you don’t know (or care) what they are, they are necessary for many of the free SimpleScripts and Fantastco scripts to run properly. Just know that you are allocated 100 without any further charges and use this information if you are comparing web hosts. With my 62 sites and a bunch of Plug-Ins and scripts running, so far I am using 38 MySQL databases.

Fantastico and SimpleScripts Library

Fantastico is an add-on to the powerful CPanel control panel that allows you to quickly install about 40+ popular open-source scripts. These scripts include forums, poll-taking, guestbook, shopping-carts, Drupal, Joomla, Mambo, picture galleries, calendars, etc. By selecting a script and providing some basic information for each, you can literally install a script within minutes. Fantastico, though not as fast at delivering up-to-date scripts as SimpleScripts, is designed so that the scripts that you install are always the newest available.

By investigating the Legal address of SimpleScripts I learned sometime back that the creator and owner of SimpleScripts is none other than BlueHost! The folks at BlueHost have created an even better version of the Fantastico script delivery and installation process called SimpleScripts. It is more up-to-date than Fantastico to the point where they took over the delivery of the more popular scripts, including the very popular WordPress delivery of new version releases to BlueHost customers. SimpleScripts is really simple and effortless. One day you see a notification that your current WordPress version is out of date (say 2.8) and with one click your WordPress platform is updated to 2.9 or 3.0 beta – “just like that!” Woo Hoo! BlueHost is always perfecting their services. BlueHost is not my only hosting company, but 2 years and 2 months into their service and I find myself always smiling!

Free Domain Name For Life

If you sign-up for the 12 month plan your first domain will be FREE of charge and will continue to be FREE FOR LIFE as long as you continue to host your website with BlueHost! If you sign up for less than a year, each domain will cost $10. So-called, cost-cutter, GoDaddy charges $10.69 per domain to keep things in perspective. If you have a registered domain elsewhere, transfer your domain name to BlueHost and get 1 years’ renewal for FREE.

Darn Good Customer Support

I have called BlueHost Customer Support maybe 6 times in two years. When you are STUCK, I don’t care how awesome a Web Guru you might consider yourself (or not), you NEED service and you need it NOW! BlueHost 24/7/365 telephone support is WAY COOL! I have a couple of non-profit sites for local churches and of course the odd challenge comes up at 11:00 PM on a Sunday evening when even fast food drive-thrus are closing for the night – but not BlueHost! My personal experience? – The support staff is fast to take your call, knowledgeable, LOCAL (not contracted out), and have yet to leave me with a question unanswered or an issue not addressed. If you have ever dealt with a host that outsources their support to some offshore 3rd party – you know the definition of FRUSTRATED! Next time you venture into Utah to go skiing, swing by Provo, UT and pay their sales and support staff a personal visit.

Guarantee – 30 Day Money Back. Pro-rated Money Back after that!

This is about as RISK FREE as it gets.

1). How many web hosting companies offer a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee?

Okay, now that you have made your list, ask question #2:

2). How many web hosting companies offer a Pro-Rated Money Back Guarantee for the rest of the contract?

Yeah! Exactly! Gosh, IF ONLY they were my Cell Phone company!!!

Upshot – Therefore, if you were to cancel after the 30 days, you will get prorated refund depending on how many months left in your contract. OMG – if your business that you set your website up for were to fail and you close your site you get the remaining months’ investment back! Yeah, there’s some fine print about that first free domain – but hey, BlueHost once again gets two thumbs up from me and my clients.

Account Set-Up: Utterly Automated – No Waiting!

If you have set up a web hosting account before, think back to the utter frustration involved. Sometimes there is a phone call involved, verification of you and your payment methods, emails needed, hours or a day or more before your account really works and you can make a domain (i.e. a website LIVE and UP)…

You’ve heard about backlinks.

Are they a FAD?

Are they necessary?

Let’s start from the beginning…

If you own a business you have a website!

—or you should have

— Ten years ago!

If you have a website, you know —or have learned that the very first thing you need to get in order to be successful is traffic coming to your website. You also know (or should know) that getting traffic over the long term means getting top ranking in the search engines for search terms that are related to your business.

PAID TRAFFIC (Pay Per Click)

Sure, you can get paid traffic in the short haul by using Adwords and other Pay Per Click (PPC) services. In some business niches it is a fast and effective way to get to the head of the line while your organic search efforts are taking hold. But PPC advertising, in some very competitive business sectors has become ridiculously expensive over the past few years – so expensive that some business website owners just can’t afford to compete with big companies in a battle that is more about the size of your pocketbook than the quality of your product or service. Remember, PPC traffic only comes to you as long as you pay for it. If you stop paying, you no longer receive traffic. A harsh lesson in capitalism – to be sure.

FREE TRAFFIC (Organic)

Generating essentially FREE traffic from top search engine rankings is different. Once you get top positioning in your market or niche market, prospective customers can find you very easily. Simply put, organic traffic from top search engine positioning is free traffic you will get day in and day out, without having to pay anything for each visitor – - - beyond good website compostion and a thorough understanding of how to get your site to the top.

BACKLINKS ? ~ I thought SEO was all about Keywords

So how do you get top search engine rankings for the search terms of your choosing? There are several important factors like good keyword research and having great content on your website that emphasizes those keywords. Inserting a long list of keywords into a websites’ meta-KEYWORD html code has become virtually useless! “WHAT~?!” you say? Well, don’t believe me – listen to Matt Cutts from Google:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jK7IPbnmvVU&feature=player_embedded

BackLinks – The New Goldmine

Sorry, but the rules change. Traditional SEO engineering of your website is still critical. Continue to pay attention to: your calculated selection of domain names; your domain’s age; your pre-paid domain registration; your meta-Keywords, meta-Title, and meta-Description and their association with each and every page of your website.

But of all the important factors, by far the most important and most difficult and expensive is having lots of backlinks to your website(s). The more links you have the better. And the more honest, legitimate and relevant the links are, from high Page Rank (PR) websites the better as well.

Getting Backlinks – The Business-Owner’s Dilemma

Getting relevant backlinks is a ridiculously LARGE chore. How do most business owners or their hired webmasters do it? They try any of these methods:

Send an email to other websites and ask to exchange links

Submit their website URL to online directories and referral sites

Participate in online forums and make meaningful comments on blogs

Write countless, relevant articles for e-zines

Buy links from a link broker or SEO firm

Hire individual link builders on forums to do tedious linkbuilding for you

The problem is that these methods either

No longer work

Take many hours of drudgery every day

Cost a fortune and then your first born

All of the above

Most webmasters know that reciprocal links (“I’ll link to you if you link to me”) don’t help very much these days. Besides, who has the energy and hours to spend virtually every day sending unsolicited emails to other webmasters on the off chance that 1 out of 50 of them will actually even answer your email?

Online directories and referral sites may (or may not) publish your link. Even if they do, it will be buried on some irrelevant page buried many levels deep in their directory and isn’t even indexed in the search engines. Many will want $99 per year to list you – FOR ONE LOUSY LINK!

Forums and blog owners are getting more and more sophisticated and they can smell anyone with a marketing agenda from a mile away. Writing articles for ezines is always a good idea, but how many articles do you think you need to write in order to get the number of links you need? To get a large number of links from webpages that the search engines will not see as duplicate content, you’ll need to write lots and lots of articles. Ever try to write a letter 20 different ways with the same words? Tedious! This is still a good way to market your website, don’t get me wrong, but the amount of time you’d need to spend to get a large number of quality links is enormous.

And of course, you can purchase links, or purchase the services of a person or organization that can get these links for you, but the cost can get very large very quickly. Want to buy some quality links? Do the math! We want you to have 100 to 300 backlinks in a competitive market such as Southern California. Most services charge $10, $100 or even more per link! No matter what link building service you investigate, the cost of buying links adds up to big money really fast. Most folks who buy links at $10 – $100 per link then have a monthly maintenance fee on top: on average, $300 per month. Oh, and as we said, miss a payment and the house-of-cards (links) come crashing down with a huge startup cost facing you as you re-start from scratch.

So why are you telling me all of this? Can you help?

Yup…

We have one person, full-time, building, watching and maintaining our clients backlinks. For a small business (less than 50 employees and $5 Million in sales / services) we will average 5 links per week for the first year getting the links to the now-magic 300+ for that size of business.

This is a good, natural growth trend and remember, the search engines will expect a natural growth in links. Five per week, on average, will work out quite well. If 300 links were to magically appear in one week or one month out of nothing, that would be “suspicious” to the AI software algorithms. Not to mention an army of staff it would require you to hire to pull off such a feat. Such rapid link manipulation would likely get the website listed as a spam/ad site, or worse “de-listed!”

The process of moving the Thesis Theme Navigation Menu is pretty straight forward. You have to tell the Thesis Theme (via code) to remove the Thesis Navigation Hook from before the header and then using a new instruction, tell the Thesis Theme (via code) to place the Nav Menu immediately after the header.

So you go to your Thesis Menu on the left side of your WordPress Dashboard, select Custom File Editor and then select one of the three files shiped with Thesis:
custom_functions.php

You will add two new lines of code the remove and the add

// Delete this line, including the dashes to the left, and add your hooks in its place.

Then delete the above line inside your
custom_functions.php
and place these codes in the same place of the deleted line:

//Move nav below header
remove_action('thesis_hook_before_header', 'thesis_nav_menu');
add_action('thesis_hook_after_header', 'thesis_nav_menu');

And finish! Now your Main Navigation Menu, such as Home, About, Etc will appear right below the header!
